As Creative Director at Rightsleeve Marketing for more than ten years, I was responsible for evolving and innovating the company’s branded marketing tools.
One of my most successful ideas was introducing “lifestyle magazine” inspired look books to Rightsleeve’s marketing toolbox.
Colourful, fun, and full of great merchandise ideas and product information, these books quickly became the team’s preferred format for engaging with their clients.
Designed to appeal to Rightsleeve’s target buyers—young, urban, media-savvy marketeers with an eye for what’s cool—these books were also a place to feature blog and community-conscious content, share interactive videos and playlists, reveal case studies, and host not-for-profit campaigns and give-aways.
Supported by coinciding direct mail and social media campaigns, as a branded marketing tool, they were robust and extremely successful.
The interiors of these books were intentionally designed to lead the reader from one product or content item to the next in a way that felt natural and relaxed, taking them on a pleasant journey, while highlighting the specific stories, products or other marketing content we wanted them to see, such as calls to action, case studies, social media or contact information.
The overall intent was to make receiving these Product Look Books an event our clients looked forward to, giving them “work” to do that felt as fun, relaxing and enjoyable as reading their favourite magazine or blog.
